Albert, William B., 87, on December 22, 2009 of Saddle River, NJ formerly of Township of Washington NJ. Born at home in Paramus to William and Harriet Albert eighty-seven years ago, the oldest of siblings Alban and Marilen, passed to his eternal reward Tuesday morning. Bill served in the US Army's 45th Infantry Division liberating Africa, Sicily and Italy before returning home to a job at Curtis Wright and a new wife Gerda. In 1947 he served as Senior Vice Commander of the Ridgewood Chapter of the VFW. As a member of the Carpenters and Joiners Union, William built many area schools and hospitals while studying architecture at FDU. Father of Bruce and Robert Albert both of Ramsey. In 1960 Bill founded Alcraft Kitchens and became a member of the Ramsey Rotary. Leaving the growing kitchen business to his sons, Bill found a position with the Westwood Board of Education retiring in 1993 to contribute his time and talent to the Zion Lutheran Church, The Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs and the Pascack Valley Sportsmen. Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday December 26, 2009 from 2-6 PM at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday December 27, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Zion Lutheran Church, 155 2nd Ave, Westwood, NJ 07675.
