Kissel, Mary P. (nee Peacock), 78, on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at her home in Allendale.

Born in Watertown, New York and beloved wife for 55 years of Theodore. Devoted mother of Ted Kissel, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Ramsey, NJ, Molly Kissel Patrick and husband Doug, of Allendale, Kirstin Pillarella and husband Mark of Center Valley, PA, and Emily Kissel Lewis and husband Fred of Lowell, MA. Mary, loving grandmother, leaves nine adoring grandchildren; Kathryn, Julia and Megan Kissel, Christine and Daniel Patrick, Corinne and Luke Pillarella, and Erika and Mary Kate Lewis. Mary is survived by sisters and brothers Martha Galloway, Anne Duclos, George Peacock, Mitzi McDermott, Daniel Peacock and Stephanie Rydelek.

She was a member of Guardian Angel Parish in Allendale; she served as a CCD instructor, and was a member of the parish finance committee for many years. She also was one of the initial organizers of an annual parish party to collect infant clothing for Several Sources, an organization which supports unwed mothers. She was a daily communicant of the parish during her retirement years. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed the outdoors and travel. Mary was a member of the Allendale Woman's Club for many years. She graduated from Watertown School of Commerce, the Ward School in Worcester, MA and attended Ramapo College. She was a stewardess for Eastern Airlines, where she was called upon for various public relations activities. On one such occasion she cut the ribbon when the original Newark Airport Terminal was opened in the early 1950's. She was secretary to the Registrar of St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. Mary also served as parish secretary at Mount Carmel Parish in Ridgewood; was employed by Carrier Corporation, and Universal Information Systems, Inc. Mary had deep foot prints and has left the world a better place. She will always be missed and remembered lovingly by her immediate and extended families and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Ave, Ramsey, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 10 AM at Guardian Angel RC Church, 320 Franklin Tpke, Allendale, NJ 07401. Entombment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary's name to the New Jersey American Parkinson's Disease Association, PO Box 2026, Edison, NJ 08818.
