Baer, Marie (nee Frohlich) 77, of Ramsey, on February 7, 2010 at The Valley Hospital, Ridgewood.
A native of Hawthorne, Mrs. Baer was graduated from Hawthorne High School and Spencer's Business College, Paterson. Mrs. Baer began her health career as medical assistant to Dr. Ward Denison, Ridgewood Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist and staff member at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, where Mrs. Baer took advanced medical technology courses. She later worked for Drs. Martin Smithline and Alan Demby, ophthalmologists in Ramsey. After retiring, she served as a part time medical product survey representative for PDI, pharmaceutical research firm in Mahwah. For many years, Mrs. Baer led Atlantic City trips for Northwest Bergen Regional Senior Center, Midland Park and continued in that capacity until recently. She was also a member of the Ramsey Leisure Club. She was also active in the assistant ministry at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Ramsey. In addition to her husband of 56 years, C. Ralph Baer Jr., Mrs. Baer is survived by a daughter, Susan DaSilva of Ramsey and four grandchildren, Anita and Vijay Virmani and Adrianna and Diego DaSilva all of Ramsey. She is also survived by two sisters Anita Caudell of Aberdeen, MD and Rosalie Longo of Franklin Lakes, and two brothers, Jules Frohlich of Hawthorne and Eric Frohlich of Palisades Park and nine nieces and three nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home 109 Darlington Ave in Ramsey. A funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 10 AM at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Ramsey. Interment will follow at Redeemer Cemetery in Mahwah.
