To the Kissel family,
I can't tell you how much you all have meant to me since the first day I walked into your UIS offices some 35 years ago. One always cherishes precious memories.
So I too am deeply saddened to hear of your loss. Mary was a friend to so many, a loving wife and mother and a very brave woman. Hold her dear remembering all her love, laughter and good works to help you through your grief. She would surely want this for each of you.
My love and sincere condolences,
Sally Nelson

"To the wonderful Kissel family: I've been recalling the many great memories of your Mom as we were kids growing up in Allendale, and in particular, all the many days of playing football in your back yard on Arcadia Dr. with Ted (and putting the hurt him) and your Mom always ready to serve us up hot cocoa in the winter, lunch during half time in the summer, and when we had "away" games, it was always the "Mrs. Kissel's Bell" that called Ted home for lunch or dinner. Your Mom was a great women who was always a guiding light for you guys, and for us as the neigborhood gang of friends, she helped keep us "in line" whenever the occassion called for it ....and it did many times! Nothing but fond memories all of your Mom and may she rest peacefully. Love Peter Schmidt"

My thoughts and prayers go out to Emily and her family. Mr. & Mrs. Kissel's acts of kindness have truly touched many. The summer before high school I broke my nose playing softball. While in the emergency room, my father told me that Mr. & Mrs. Kissel were in the waiting room. They didn't leave until I walked out and they saw that I was Ok. This act of kindness has stayed with me since that day.
I wish I could have been there in person to pay my respects to Mrs. Kissel.

To all the Kissels - Mr. Kissel, Ted, Molly, Kiki and of course Em, it is with a sadden heart I send you my deepest sympathy and it with wonderful memories that I send you my prayers that mom is resting in peace with her Maker. I don't know where to begin with the many, many precious memories growing up together. All of us Allendale friends were like family to each other's family. I will always think of you all as family and each of our moms as all of our moms. I do remember your mom's wonderful smile and can hear her laugh and saying "oh Mary"! Making cookies, being on your boat, the sleepovers, Em banging on drums, Guardian Angel. Your mom will always be with me. Love, Mary

My Mom is the best. I say 'is' because she will always be with me. 2 weeks ago, as I was leaving for Boston, I told her "I love you" and she so softly replied, "I love you". I waved as I left. Her smile glowed and I said to Dad, "She has the most beautiful smile". Dad joyfully agreed.
She has my friends from all over the world praying for her. I'm sad.
I miss my Mom. She is in heaven now, free from her disease.
